Yes, fall is all about pumpkins for us, but it’s also the perfect time to start showing your skin a little love. Sugar scrubs are great for sloughing off those old dead skin cells and uncovering that new, beautiful skin underneath.

They are also great for evening out skin tone and increasing circulation. Using a sugar scrub just a few times a week in the shower is a great way to pamper your skin and keep it beautiful and moisturized going into winter.

Sugar scrubs are super simple to make, but this recipe has a little bit of a twist:

Pumpkin Sugar Scrub

Yield: Approx. 1 cup
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

This pumpkin sugar scrub is great for sloughing off those old dead skin cells and uncovering that new, beautiful skin underneath.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup organic brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cooked pumpkin or pumpkin puree
  • 2 Tbsp carrier oil (avocado, EVOO, or sweet almond work great - can also use MCT oil, but don't use regular coconut oil as it sets up too hard in the fridge)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 8 oz container (I prefer to use glass, but you could use plastic)

Instructions

  1. Add about 1/2 cup brown sugar to the container.
  2. Mix in pumpkin puree and carrier oil. If using coconut oil, make sure it's MCT or fractionated coconut oil, otherwise, it will set up like a rock in the fridge.
  3. Stir until combined.
  4. Add remaining brown sugar and mix well.
  5. Store in the fridge until ready to use.
  6. When you're in the shower, apply using light circular motions.
  7. Rinse well.
