I remember a day when I thought Hidden Valley Ranch dressing tasted good.
Then, I was introduced to fresh, homemade ranch dressing and I was immediately hooked.
I experimented and came up with a recipe that suits my taste buds and I hope you all enjoy it as well. Once you have a taste of this, you will never, ever go back to bottled ranch again. Plus, it’s not only easy to make, it’s WAY healthier than commercial dressings, which are filled with icky GMO oils, preservatives, and more.
This creamy ranch dressing is delicious on salads, for a veggie dip, with French fries and even on sandwiches. Quite honestly, I can just eat it plain, and no matter what I put it on, that food is just a vessel for getting the dressing in my mouth! 🙂
As an added bonus, if you make the dressing with kefir and homemade mayo, it’s a probiotic dressing! Can’t feel guilty about eating that!

Shout out to my friend Suzanne from Strands of My Life for shooting the photo for this recipe! Mmmm..that sounds tasty! I’d like to try it on a salad with mixed greens and fresh tomatoes from the garden *when they are in season) – I’ll definitely give it a try!
Nothing beats a healthy salad with a good dose of ranch dressing!!! 🙂 I think I’m a ranch addict. It’s hard for me not to put it on everything I eat … well, not EVERYTHING, but close! 😉
This sounds really good. Commercial salad dressings are so unhealthy with the cheap oils that are used, even the organic ones. Always appreciate new homemande recipes, thanks.
I hear ya! I have completely given up on dressings at the store. Especially once I realized just how easy it is to make your own! I love ranch dressing. I’d eat it on everything if I could! 🙂
I also make my own Ranch dressing! Our recipes are similar, but I don’t add dill (my husband doesn’t care for it). Thanks for sharing! Blessings, Lisa 🙂
I love the dill! I am a dill freak! My hubby’s not a fan of ranch dressing period, so more for me, right??? 🙂 Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment! I’m am going to head over to your blog right now!
I made this yesterday, and I have to say a big thank you for sharing this recipe! It is delicious! Usually I want to tweek and change a recipe to suit my taste, but I will leave this one as is! Thank you so much!
Hi Mendy – Thank you for your kind words! I am just like you — I can never leave a recipe alone, so I take that as a huge compliment that you made it as is! Thank you! :):)
Would you be able to use fresh onion and garlic in this do you think? Or even fermented garlic?
Both would taste great!
What could you substitute to make it dairy-free?
Hi Pam – You could use coconut milk or some other milk substitute, but I will be honest — I’ve never created a dairy free ranch dressing that I have been happy with (and I’ve experimented with it A LOT). Unfortunately, the dairy seems to be what helps with a lot of the flavor of the dressing. I am no longer eating dairy and ranch dressing is one of the things I miss most! 🙂
Started to make this and I was not sure if you used fresh chives, dill, and parsley? Or did you use dried? Thanks!
Hi Janice – You could use either one. The recipe was developed with dried, but when I have fresh on hand, I prefer to use that! Hope you enjoy!
