Are you a fan of smoothies? It seems people either love them or hate. I am personally a big fan of smoothies but seriously, I have had some serious fails in the smoothie-making department. For a long time my husband I called them ‘gritties’.
Have you ever seen one of the demos for smoothie making at a store? They throw all this stuff in a blender, whirl it around and it comes out tasting great? How hard can it be?
When we got a first high powered blender, we opened it as soon as we got home and started throwing stuff in it. What came out was a brown blob of a mess that didn’t remotely taste like the smoothie we had at the store. Humph.
Well, over a bit of time, we learned that smoothies can be good when you work with the right proportions of liquid, fruits and veggies. We LOVE smoothies now and have different kinds on a daily basis. It is a great way to pack in vitamins and minerals, plus you can add in some of those supplements to increase the nutritional value of every sip.
I’m of the camp, every bite matters, let’s make it worth it. This has been huge for me as part of my mineral balancing program and I can feel a difference in my health.
