{Note from Jessica: Today’s post is shared by my sweet friend Renee, author of Raising Generation Nourished. We became friends several years ago and I am continually impressed with her desire to help change the world, starting with our newest generation. Real food has to be core of our health and should start in the womb. Considering this is the first time in history that our children are expected to die before us, something HAS to change. I’m honored to call her a friend. I hope you’ll stop by her site, Raising Generation Nourished, and say hello!}
It never fails! June 1st rolls around and the familiar singing truck loaded to the brim with every red 40 loaded ice pop you can imagine parades around our neighborhood (at least twice a week!) making every little kid within a half mile beg their parents for a few bucks to splurge on a corn syrup high.
Because that nostalgic ice cream truck graces our presence about twice a week until school starts back up again, homemade ice pops have become a part of my weekly routine – and really they couldn’t be easier. Just a few minutes of hands on time and my trusty 10-pop popsicle maker fills my freezer with a quick treat that I can feel good about my kids having when they see that ice cream truck roll around the block.
So here’s to summer! And a freezer filled with ice pops that you and the family can enjoy guilt free! Check out all these great ways to cool off!
