It’s easy to look at those who are successful and think they are just lucky, when in reality, their success happened because they were determined, focused, and not afraid of risk or failure. No matter what your goals or dreams are — whether they are personal, professional, or health related — these tips will help you!

Why Luck Has Nothing to Do with Being Successful in Life

When we read or hear about people being successful, whether by growing their company, landing their dream job, getting that big promotion, or finally achieving that life-long health goal, we tend to think they’re just lucky.

“He has all the luck in the world.”

“Oh, she’s just always lucky.”

“Why don’t I have their luck?”

However, luck has nothing to do with it.

When you focus on luck or how unlucky you are, you really are just giving yourself excuses and reasons not to start or do something.

Change Your Mind to Change Your Reality

Being successful has nothing to do with luck and everything to do with your mindset.

Do you know why millionaires and billionaires are so successful?

  • They don’t give up, especially when times get tough.
  • They don’t let negativity rule their thoughts.
  • They don’t let other’s thoughts or opinions affect them.
  • They don’t compare themselves to others.
  • They believe in themselves and their abilities.
  • They trust their own intuition and take risks.

If something isn’t going the way you want it to, then change your mind about it. Instead of letting your Inner Critic tear you down, let your Loving Self bring you back up.

Successful people also don’t let fear guide them down their path. They make their own path using ambition, courage, bravery and determination.

Fear can get to us all but it’s how you respond to it that defines you and ultimately, how successful you’ll be in life.

The unknown and uncertainty in any given situation can be downright terrifying, but know that everyone goes through those difficult dark times in their lives. You will get through it.

It’s all about taking risks, failing, getting back up, and trying again.

5 Simple Steps You Can Take to Become Successful

It’s time to quit daydreaming about the life you want and start living that life right now!

Here are five easy steps you can take to start becoming the person you know you can be (and are meant to be):

  1. Decide what you want to do. It all starts with a dream or a thought. Figure out what it is that you want out of life or what you want to do in life. Dive deep inside yourself and really figure out what your purpose is. Give yourself some quiet time to really think, meditate or brainstorm ideas. First, you need to make a decision. If you’ve been back and forth between ideas or don’t feel very sure about things, then this is the time to figure it all out. Get it down on paper, talk with a friend or family member, share your ideas with a community group online. Just get it out of you so you can start working towards it.
  2. Take action. Now it’s time to stop thinking and talking about your dreams and goals, and start doing something towards them. If you want to lose weight, create a healthy menu or exercise routine for the week. If you want to start a new business, begin to create a business plan and do your research. If you know you need to learn a new skill to get that big promotion at work, start looking up classes, online tutorials or books to better yourself. Quit making excuses and start doing something productive to move yourself closer to that goal or dream.
  3. Don’t be afraid to take risks. Life is about taking chances, failing and trying again. Hardly anyone succeeds on his or her first try. Don’t let the thought of failure keep you from living your dream life. Everyone fails; you just have to be strong enough to not let it keep you down. Don’t ever quit trying. Go online and read success stories to keep you motivated.
  4. Stick with it and stay focused. Once you get your momentum going, keep it going. This can be hard because life gets hard, but stick with it. Train yourself to stay focused on what you really want. Don’t look too much at the end result or end destination because it’s all about the experience and the journey. This is what you wanted, after all – to live this specific life.
  5. Expect to succeed. Too many people expect to fail. Don’t become one of those Debbie Downers. Visualize yourself succeeding at whatever you’re doing. Imagine feeling those feelings of pride, accomplishment, and satisfaction to keep you going. Stay positive and don’t let negative thoughts influence your mindset. Recite positive affirmations to yourself every day, or focus on the positives happening in your life because you’re already succeeding.

It’s so very easy to fall into the negative pit of despair, especially when you’re first starting your journey. But stay strong, take the action steps above, believe in yourself, keep an unwavering faith that everything is as it should be and will always be okay, and dang it, just have fun! Life is supposed to be fun, exciting and adventurous.

Don’t let fear keep you from living the wildest, craziest, most thrilling life you can live. So get out there and make it happen!
