Divine Health from the Inside Out

Need the perfect summer tea blend to both energize yet relax you at the same time?

You will love my Revitalizing Summer Tonic, an herbal green tea blend that’s uniquely flavored and sweet without any added sugar.

I’m sure you’ve heard the benefits of green tea touted quite a bit. It has been one of the latest food fads over the last few years, but most green tea beverages are packed with unsavory ingredients (like refined sugar, artificial flavors, etc.). Hardly healthy.

So, skip all those pre-made products and try this recipe out!

To me, green tea by itself is not all that exciting. That’s why I’ve paired it with a few zestier ingredients to kick up the flavor profile, along with the health benefits. Since this is a blend there will be much less caffeine in general. I personally enjoy 1 quart a day, sometimes as much as 2 quarts on hot days.

Green tea is loaded with antioxidants, as well as L-theanine . L-theanine is known to help reduce stress due to its relaxing properties. Dr. Kharrazian, author of the popular “Why Do I Still Have Thyroid Symptoms When My Lab Tests Are Normal?” book, says that green tea helps to fire up the hormone lipase, which also helps to burn body fat. Green tea is a very balancing tea for the body as well.

So, do something good for your body this summer and sip on this delicious tea!

Disclaimer: Green Tea does not benefit everyone, if you feel worse with green tea and have Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism or know you are TH2 dominant, discontinue it’s use. You can replace the green tea in this recipe with dried nettles, and use a touch less green leaf stevia.

I get all of my herbs and spices from Mountain Rose Herbs. I have tried so many other brands and have never found the quality, flavor, and aroma to be as good as the herbs I get from Mountain Rose.

Instructions
  1. Blend all together in a small Fido jar, clamp the lid on and shake to combine.
  2. Use a heaping ½ cup to make 2 quarts of tea if you are going to make it iced.
  3. Add herbs to 2 quarts of hot water and steep for 3 minutes -no more!
  4. Or use 1 heaping teaspoon per 1 cup of water to have a cup of hot green tea.
  5. Enjoy!
  6. NOTE: If you do not prefer to use stevia, leave it out and use an alternative sweetener. I prefer no added sugar which is why I choose stevia
