Did you know that the average lifespan of someone with an autoimmune disease is 10 years shorter than a healthy person?

I don’t know about you, but this is really scary, especially considering that I know so many people with autoimmune disease, myself included. Most people have more than one and their quality of life suffers immensely by trying to manage chronic illness while still living life and taking care of all that the have on their plate.

Autoimmune illness is a complex topic and there are many facets to why our lives may be shortened by it. While I know many people who have been able to manage their chronic illness effectively and even recover their health, I also know many, many people who haven’t. There are a couple reasons for this:

  1. Many people don’t even know they have an autoimmune illness because their doctors don’t do thorough testing or evaluation. These people may also not know how to do further investigation on their own, or may not have the means to do additional testing on their own to get a formal diagnosis. I’m a big advocate of putting your health in your own hands, but I also know that there are always financial limitations that play a role in what some people can and can’t do for their health.
  2.  They may have an autoimmune diagnosis, but they have not been able to find the info or support they need to start healing, put the illness in remission, or regain a better quality of life. Again, I am a big advocate of taking control of your health, but you often are not able to do it all on your own. You need a skilled practitioner who can help guide you through the maze of information we are bombarded with every day.

Unfortunately, these two reasons (among others) is why there is a statistical average that shows that people who suffer from autoimmune disease live 10 years less than those who don’t.

My own AI disease was undiagnosed for many years simply because my doctors did not take the time (or the interest) to dig deeper and I didn’t know how to dig deeper on my own. Western medicine is not designed to help people find the root causes of chronic illness, heal the body, and manage the illness long term.

That’s why I am so passionate about education and awareness for AI disease (and chronic illness in general). The more info we can get out there, the more we can empower the people who may be suffering from AI disease and help them figure out how to lead a healthier life….and ideally, extend their life as well.

Autoimmune diseases and the physical, chemical, and emotional pain they create impacts millions around the world. The primary way doctors treat these diseases is to prescribe immune suppressing drugs. I have been to so many doctors over the years and very few have even had the first clue how to help me. It’s frustrating to spend so much time and money on doctors who can’t seem to help us have a better quality of life.

Unfortunately, this approach has failed to achieve a meaningful outcome and has created an even greater health crisis–what Dr. Peter Osborne calls “The Prescription Pain Trap”–which you will learn more about during this important event.

The event I am talking about is The Autoimmune Revolution and this is a must-attend event this year.
