It today’s world it seems that it takes more effort to be healthy. Our daily lives are spent more inside than out in the sun. We exercise less because we have sitting jobs. Our foods come from depleted soil, and we fight being bombarded with chemicals.

Yikes! Not a very encouraging picture is it?

One advantage we do have, though, is more access to knowledge! There are ways to keep your body healthy and one of the best things you can do is keep your liver happy.

The liver is a pathway to detox for your body, so if it isn’t working properly, it is very easy for your body to get backed up. This can cause a cascade of other health issues.

Thinking about doing a liver detox intimates to me so I like to add things to my daily routine that will help keep my liver happy. They are easy to get used to and help keep my liver working properly.

10 Easy Ways to Love Your Liver

10 easy ways to love your liver

1. Drink Enough Water

Our bodies need water. It helps hydrate as well as provide the minerals we need. Water also flushes out toxins. Drinking water helps keep our bodies from becoming stagnate.

2. Castor Oil Packs

Castor oils packs are an age old tradition that helps detox the liver. They are easy to do and are pretty cost effective because you don’t need much to do them. Here are some instructions on how to do one.

3 .Dry Skin Brushing

Dry skin brushing is one of my favorite things to do each day. It helps keep many detox pathways clear so toxins can flush out, including the liver. Plus, there are many benefits for the amount of time it takes to brush.

4. Detox Baths

Not only are baths relaxing, they are great at gently helping the body detox. Adding a mix of salt and essential oils can help support the liver as well as add minerals to your body.

5. Liver-Friendly Herbs

Herbs are a great way to help the liver out. Some are very gentle, like milk thistle and dandelion, and there are other herbal formulas that help detox a bit more, like the Liver Detox from Perfect Supplements.

6. Avoid Alcohol

I know, I’m the no fun police, but if you know you are dealing with liver congestion, avoiding alcohol is best as it makes your liver work harder to process it.

7. Avoid Pharmaceutical Medication

While some medications are necessary, if you can avoid pharmaceuticals, your liver will thank you for it. Anytime you put something synthetic into your body, your liver has to work much harder to process this.

8. Chew Your Food

Chew your food – this one is simple! Chewing your food up well helps release the enzymes in the food that aid in digestion. This is a great start to help the entire digestion system work well so the liver doesn’t have to deal with the extra stress of the digestion system not working well.

9. Purposeful Movement

Any type of exercise allows the body systems to work better. It helps with circulation and keeps the liquid in your body moving the way it should. This assists in keeping your detox pathways clear and functioning.

10. Add Liver-Friendly Food To Your Diet

Keeping a healthy, well-rounded diet, with lots of vegetables, is key to helping your body get the minerals it needs, but certain foods really give your liver an extra boost. What you can try?

  • Beets
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Broccoli
  • Carrots
  • Apples
  • Leafy Greens
  • Avocados
