Nothing says summer-time like BBQ. Well, maybe homemade, freshly churned ice cream, but we’ll focus on that another time. 😉

A good BBQ sauce is pretty much a must-have for any summer cook-out, potluck, or family get together. This raw version is super easy to whip up, and all the ingredients are delicious and healthy, so you don’t have to feel bad slathering it all over your chicken, ribs, carrots, potatoes, or even crackers (if you’re like my kids).

If you’re wondering what kind of a taste you’re gonna get from a raw BBQ sauce, it’s not sweet. The raw garlic and apple cider vinegar give it a bit of a tangy bite, but they also provide a boatload of nutrients that will make any mom happy to serve it. 😉

Now, there are tons of posts out there about the health benefits of garlic (here are 19 health benefits of garlic) and apple cider vinegar (check out this post for 6 proven benefits of ACV), so I’m just going to touch on a few of my favorites:

Garlic is full of B6, which is needed for a healthy immune system, and also produces allicin, a natural antibiotic. It’s my first go-to when I’m coming down with something. Smash and swallow a couple of raw cloves a day and I’m feeling better in no time!

Apple cider vinegar contains malic acid, which gives it anti-fungal, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial properties.

Add the bacteria-killing proteins from honey to the list, and this BBQ sauce is a powerhouse of immune-boosting health!

So go ahead, make yourself some and enjoy a tasty healthy BBQ this summer!
