Weekly Recipe Wrap Up - Recipes and Real Food

Summer has arrived. It’s hot. While I drink tons of water, and occasionally some iced tea, sometimes you just need a really tasty drink to satisfy your thirst! I have collected some great recipes this week and I’m excited to try all of them! What’s your favorite summertime drink?

Weekly Recipe Wrap Up – The Yummy Drink Edition

Fizzy Ginger Limeade – Ginger and citrus are one of my favorite combinations. This drink sounds heavenly and refreshing! I’ll be making a batch this weekend for sure.

Rosemary Citrus Spritzer – This sounds very tasty. A little high in sugar, so I would make it with a lot less. But, the citrus and rosemary combination is so unique that I think it’s worth a try!

Blueberry Banana Smoothie Recipe With Organic Whey – Simple and delicious breakfast or dessert on a hot day.

Cucumber Cooler – YUM! I love any drink that has cucumber in it. Adding the mint and lime would take it out of this world. I’ll be whipping up a batch of this today. You could substitute stevia for the honey for a sugar-free beverage.

Mint Water – Does it get any more simple than this? I love the idea of adding fresh herbs to water. Just a little something different to get more water in us!

Thai Iced Coffee Recipe – For those of you who drink coffee, I thought this sounded refreshing. I love the addition of cardamom pods and almond extract. What a way to “spice up” your normal cup of coffee!

Orange Creamsicle Milkshake (w/out the ice cream) – I love creamy orange anything, so this is going to be a big hit. Makes me wish I had some raw milk on hand and I’d whip one up right now!

Blackberry Elderflower Spritzer with Mint – Another tasty recipe from The Kitchn. I don’t know where I would get elderberry flower syrup, but I’m pretty sure there are readers out there who have some! 🙂

Creamy Jasmine Iced Tea – Recipe from the Nourishing Gourmet. I love jasmine tea, but had never thought about making it iced with coconut milk. Tasty idea!

Strawberry & Balsamic Basil Soda – Hmmm…When you read the title of this recipe, I’m not sure what went on in your head. My first reaction was yum, followed by a yuk. Not sure how I feel about it, but it was too interesting not to share. Perhaps substitute honey for the agave?

Homemade Sugar-Free Lemonade (w/Sweetener Options) – Lemonade is the classic summer drink, but most of the time recipes are laden with sugar and the store-bought stuff (yuk!) is full of HFCS. My friend Adrienne, the creator and author of Whole New Mom, has a great recipe for anyone craving lemonade!

Fermented Lemonade Punch from Nourishing Traditions – I don’t think we can have too many recipes for lemonade, can we?

When Water Gets Boring – Ten Healthy Beverage Substitutions – And, to wrap up this week’s post, here’s an article from my friend Amy over at Real Food, Whole Health on healthy substitutions for water. We all know water gets boring. So, let’s find something else to drink!

So, what’s your favorite summertime drink recipe? Which one of these recipes are you dying to try? Can’t wait to hear your comments!
