The other night, I needed a super-fast side dish to go with our grass-fed steaks and mashed potatoes. I had some fresh English peas that needed to be used, so I whipped this right up. It’s probably the fastest side dish you’ll ever make!

Garlic Cheese Peas Recipe

Garlic and Cheese Peas

In about 10 minutes, you'll have a healthy, delicious side dish that's super easy to throw together, and the whole family will love it.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green peas (or frozen should work fine too)
  • 2 tbsp. butter or ghee
  • 1 tbsp. crushed garlic
  • 1/4 cup fresh, chopped parsley
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • Dash of sea salt

Instructions

    1. In a large sauté pan, melt the butter or ghee and add the garlic.
    2. Stir around for a minute or two, and then add the peas.
    3. Mix until the peas are coated with oil and garlic.
    4. Cover and cook for 5-8 minutes (frozen peas will cook a little faster).
    5. Remove the lid and stir.
    6. Top with the grated Parmesan and parsley and stir in. Salt to taste.
