I’m absolutely IN LOVE WITH YOU AND YOUR SITE! Seriously I’m not a stalker but I am impressed.Very informative site.I’m starting week one of your 52 weeks of fermenting.Looking forward to making fermented garlic and cider.I use airlocks also for some of my ferments.I’ve not noticed a difference with or without.
What I did find was cheaper and airtight. Check it out if you care to.

Hi Lana – Hope you enjoy the garlic. It is AMAZING! I have a big 2 liter jar going right now. Can’t wait until I can dig into it. Regarding the airlock that you mention, I have never seen that one. I know there are a lot of different airlocks circulating around. None of the ones I have seen allow you to get a truly airtight ferment, which is why I will continue to stick to the PI jars. I have had such good experiences with them producing great tasting ferments — much better than any other vessel or lid has given me. Hope that helps!
Thanks for your kind words! I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the site!
