Awhile back, I posted a video about Alice Waters and her 60 Minutes interview. If you’re not familiar with Alice Waters, she is the mother of the slow food movement. She is a powerful advocate for using high-quality, local, sustainable ingredients and eating what’s in season. Her restaurant, Chez Panisse, is considered one of the best restaurants in the world and she has written many books, done tons of interviews, and really is a force to be reckoned with.

In addition to all of that, in 1995, she created the Chez Panisse Foundation and launched a new program called the Edible Schoolyard Project in Berkley, CA. Through this project,  she strives to teach children how to grow and prepare their own food, while receiving educational credit for their efforts. Her efforts have changed the lives of countless children and adults alike.
