I am really excited about this giveaway because it’s not one that I had originally scheduled. However, the nice folks over at Tropical Traditions (love them), contacted me and asked if I’d like to do a special giveaway for my readers for one gallon of their Gold Label Virgin Coconut oil! Of course I would! How can I turn that down?
I did a review of Tropical Traditions’ Gold Label virgin coconut oil back in March of 2011, so this is not going to be a review post (and, they did not provide me with a sample to review, since I’ve already done one). If you haven’t tried Tropical Traditions’ virgin coconut oil, it’s some of the best on the market. I have been buying from them for many years and have never been disappointed with any of their products. There’s a lot of coconut oil on the market and being very selective about the brands you buy is important. Sometimes you may not be getting what you think you’re paying for. You also want to be cautious of refined coconut oil, because most commercial refining processes use chemicals, solvents, and bleaches (ick!). You can read more on the Tropical Traditions’ website about the specific differences between virgin coconut oil and refined coconut oil.
One of the questions that I get asked most often is where to buy coconut oil? I prefer to buy my coconut oil in bulk and typically you will get the best bang for your buck from an online retailer like Tropical Traditions. I go through an average of a quart (or more) per month, so in order to make my grocery dollars spread a little further, bulk is the best way to go. While there are a lot of brands of coconut oil out there, it is important to do your research and know where the oil is coming from and how it has been processed.
